So

Yeah i haven’t typed up anything in a while, i didn’t really feel like it, until now.

Let see, right now i am currently unemployed, my extensive cash reserves are slowly but surely being depleted because i keep buying games off steam and also buying individually wrapped chocolate chip brownies off the store. So in order for me to keep buying games off steam and other useless crap i need a job, so in these passing weeks i’ve been taking trips to places and submitting apps and talking to people and all that stuff, but so far no success.

Aside from that, another thing that’s happened to me, was that for the first time, ever, my computer got a virus. Because of that, i was forced to wipe clean the HDD’s in my computer and format and reinstall which wasn’t really fun at all.

Also i was more or less forced to clean up my room, since there are random outside people coming in and checking out the house and the rooms and such, but no matter what i do, the damn room still looks like crap, i’d like to thank my brother for taking off the carpeting in this room when he used to live here for that.

Umm, lately i’ve discovered that one can watch streamed tv shows off websites. Examples, both ABC.com and NBC.com offer streamed versions of past shows on their respective websites. ABC.com offers “HD” streamed versions of all the LOST episodes and seasons, which play really nicely on my computer.

Which brings me to another thing; i really, really, really hate watching LOST. Watching a LOST episode is kind of irritating, an episode dishes out more questions than it answers, i know it’s supposed to be that way, but it just makes me rage a little bit, i am an idiot wtf can i do.

Ubuntu

I love ubuntu, it convinced me to truly consider linux as a replacement for windows xp. I’ve tried other linux distros, SUSE and Mandriva, both of them are pretty cool distros, i installed them and configured them on my pc with no problems, the only real nagging issue i’ve had with them was installing new software.I tried to install pidgin on mandriva, but it seems that i had to install other packages so that it could run it, then i had to type up obscure commands into the terminal in order to compile and install it. I have to admit i am still pretty much a noob at linux, i hate screwing around in the terminal.

Ubuntu is different tho, i was pleasantly surprised with how ubuntu notifies you of missing packages, i tried to play a mp3 file and i got a message saying something like this:

“oh hi there, it seems you need to download some packages to play this file, would you like to download them now?”

Installing other apps is only a matter of searching them in the synaptic package manager, selecting the package, and downloading, ubuntu does the rest. I did have to do a little bit of terminal typing, but there are a lot of helpful guides and forums in the ubuntu website.
